In 1996 I had this grill re-manufactured from a French Design and added some improvements. It is sloped in design to keep the fats away and the spacing between the gill lines is 1/2 of an inch. I had it coated in a porcelain glaze to prevent rust, but this will burn off with constant use. NEVER take this HOT grill and run it under cold water, it will crack the grill. Always allow it to cool. before cleaning. Great for Steaks, Chops, Scallops and Shrimp as well as Vegetables.
